Pellegrini takes his side to Brittania Stadium as the Premier League leaders look to preserve their lead at the top, but many are backing goals at both ends.
Premier League leaders Manchester City face a tough test when they travel to take on Stoke City at Brittania Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Both sides cruised into the last four of the Capital One Cup in midweek, recording comfortable victories over Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City respectively.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side are the top flight’s top scorers with 30 goals so far, while Mark Hughes’ men have kept five clean sheets in their last seven Premier League outings to set up what promises to be a fascinating clash of styles. Stoke stumbled against Sunderland last weekend but have otherwise been in good form, and Hughes’ side will be determined to get back to winning ways against the league leaders.
The Potters, however, have won just two of their 14 Premier League encounters against the men from Manchester. Each of Stoke’s last nine fixtures has featured fewer than three goals, but Pellegrini’s side boast an embarrassment of riches in the final third of the pitch, and that trend could well be bucked here.
This game will be shown live on television on NBC at 7:45am in USA.
